What to Bring to Your First Visit
- Your prescription
- Picture ID (driver license) and insurance cards
- List of current medications and dosages
- Co-pay, co-insurance, or deductibles (due each visit)
- Come prepared with 5 functional, measurable goals you want to achieve through therapy.
- Good goal: Able to stand 30 minutes to cook a meal.
- Incomplete goal: Able to stand longer.
Also:
- Come 30 minutes ahead of your initial appointment to allow plenty of time for paperwork.
- Drink plenty of fluids. No caffeine for Medicare and Atrio clients on first visit.
Testing is done on your mid-visit, so come 10 minutes early for required paperwork.
How to Get the Most Out of Your Therapy
- Come properly hydrated, fed, and if needed, medicated.
- Bring or wear appropriate workout clothes.
- Bring a towel if using the pool.
- Be on time for your appointment.
- Do the exercises your therapist gives you to do at home and be consistent with them.
- Ask questions as needed.
- Always make your therapist aware if any exercises/activities bother you, or seem to make your symptoms worse or if it makes you feel uncomfortable.
- Always let your therapist know if any of your medications or dosages have changed.
- Let your therapist know of any new health issues (pregnancy, new diagnosis of cancer, etc.)
